Adopt an Artefact
The Lac-Brome Museum (LBM) preserves an extensive collection of over 18,000 artefacts and over 125 linear metres of archival materials, many dating back to the Loyalist settlers who arrived here in the late 1700s.

Our extensive museum collection includes costumes, ceramics, furniture, tools, early electronics, military artefacts, works of art, and much more. The archival collection consists of thousands of photographs, journals, scrapbooks, documents, and a library with over 6,500 historic books. Together, these irreplaceable objects tell the story of Brome County from its earliest days.

The Adopt an Artefact program enables all individuals, schools, organizations, community groups, and businesses to select and sponsor artefacts from the collections for a year. By adopting one of our incredible objects, your tax-deductible contribution helps ensure that the LBM can continue to protect and preserve the heritage and history of Brome County for future generations.

This is one of the key BCHS fundraising programs that helps to generate significant donations for our museum and historical society. By sponsoring one of our treasured artefacts with a symbolic adoption, your donation will help to protect and preserve the history and heritage of Brome County.
